Online chess classes for Intermediate and Advanced chess players.
In class students will review the basic rules of chess and learn castling, pawn promotion and en passant. Students will also be introduced to opening theory, tactics, and strategy in an easy to understand format. By playing against other students in an online format, students will hone their skills and get experience playing REAL people, NOT computers! Each class includes instruction and match play. Advanced students will learn how to improve their board vision and make a plan that will result in checkmate.
Intermediate: These students have played chess before. Knows the basics rules, including piece movement, check, checkmate, and pawn promotion.
What they’ll learn:
- Castling
- Checkmate patterns/nets
- Common tactics
- Introductory opening and endgame theory
- En passant
Advanced: These students have played chess for awhile or is an avid chess player. Knows all the rules, including castling and en passant. If familiar with tactics, openings, and endgame theory.

- Advanced tactics
- Opening & endgame theory
- Advanced checkmate patterns/nets
- Positional theory
- How to evaluate their games
- Variants, tactics, and positional play
